Story

The game we have designed this semester is named ConSequence. The experience we look to create for the player is a relaxing game that still challenges you and keeps you interested in the plot. The player will have to traverse a peaceful forest landscape and solve puzzles to unlock parts of the story.

The game is based on the impact of climate change. It is played like a platformer with puzzles at different points but is mostly centered around the story.

The main story is showing the impact of climate change on the environment. The player will go through a heavily forested area, but encounter obstacles along the way. The player will utilize a mechanic that takes them forward and backward in time, which is represented by the different layers in the game, and the environment around them will change, allowing them to progress. The player will use this to their advantage to get through puzzles and different stage obstacles.

The player by going forward and backward in time and layers will unravel the story, seeing that the future they travel to looks much different. Clues along the way will indicate what went wrong, and at the end, the player will have to travel all the way into the future and see the true impact of the events they witnessed.
